This is what I believe.
There is absolutely no need for War, Poverty, Suffering, Abuse, Hunger, Drought or Famine. We, as humans, have the ability to prevent and eradicate all of the above ? if only we choose to.
The truth is there are only two main causes of all that ails the World. The pursuit of money and power.
Man's obsession with both has prevented the true creation of a global community and genuine equality since the beginning of "civilisation" and it will continue to hamper the progress of truly humanitarian global society until we finally burn ourselves out as a race or wake up and change things.
Ask yourself why any of the above atrocities exist? What do you determine to be the very basic root of the problem? It will be either Greed or Power ? every time.

No, we have a surplus of food, the technology to produce more efficiently than ever before and the Western World Supermarkets supplying more varieties of food at lower prices than ever before. Our society in the West is geared up for retail and consumption. It feeds our economy. But in doing so in its current form it actually over feeds our populations and as a result we have a problem with obesity and related health issues burdening on our National Health system.
